Jack Sovereign

INTERN

Colorado State University (Class of 2023); FEMA NIMS ICS

Jack found his way to cybersecurity after taking an online quiz, and it was love at first sight. He is majoring in cybersecurity, with minors in both mathematics and statistics, and his first computer organization class made him realize just how easy it can be to manipulate a computer to do the unexpected. During his internship at Rule4, Jack is applying the skills he’s learned in the classroom to real world problems and situations.

On campus, Jack is president of the CSU cybersecurity club, and he participates in Capture the Flag security competitions and the Department of Energy’s CyberForce competition. An avid music fan, Jack draws both entertainment and inspiration from artists such as Tame Impala; Tyler, the Creator; and Louis the Child. He strives to mimic their genre-bending mindset in his approach to cybersecurity, with its endless opportunities for out-of-the-box thinking, boundary pushing, and innovation.

Off campus, Jack spends his free time hiking, camping, ice skating, skiing, playing video games, and hanging out with friends. He takes advantage of both city life and outdoor adventures in Fort Collins, where he attends school, and is excited to see what Boulder has to offer this summer.
