The north star of Ashton Suire’s career is helping others achieve success through technology. He joins the den with over a decade of experience in tech, most recently as a senior cloud engineer. His path into technology started in 2012 in small-town Louisiana, where he became curious about how technology could help small businesses operate more effectively.
In 2016, Ashton moved to Colorado and spent the next decade working in the regulated cannabis industry, supporting technology across retail, manufacturing, operations, and compliance. This included work with a successful startup, where he helped build and support one of the first cannabis e-commerce platforms that incorporated an internally developed POS and seed-to-sale system. As the industry matured, that technology evolved into an integration platform for cannabis SaaS tools.
He was drawn further into cybersecurity while assisting companies with technical audits tied to security and compliance in public trading. In these roles, he not only provided key technical guidance in a highly regulated and evolving environment but also assisted on the business side with opening retail, manufacturing, and cultivation locations. His experience has made him highly aware of the need to consider the entire business when implementing technology.
Ashton finds inspiration everywhere, every day. Originally from Louisiana, these days he lives in the mountains near Nederland, Colorado, where he enjoys spending time outside skiing, hiking, camping, and fly-fishing. He also loves cooking and music, and spends much of his free time playing guitar and banjo while helping host local bluegrass jams in the Peak to Peak area.
